I’ve been in more than a few meetings lately about which metrics matter in AI search.
Let me be blunt: If you’re still obsessing over Impressions, STOP…like now.
An impression is a vanity metric. It tells you how many people might have seen your link.
But in AI search, you can’t measure impressions without querying machines millions of times through specialized tools like Authoritas or OpenForge.
So, think about the math: Is it better to have 1,000,000 impressions with 20 clicks? Or 100 targeted impressions with 20 clicks?
Legacy SEO agencies stayed in business by selling you the "Million."
They claimed they had the secret data to keep you at the top of a shifting algorithm.
When Google changed the algorithm, they sold you their "agility" to fix it.
It sounded like spin because it was.
I started Penpixel Creative because that "uncomfortable feeling" of being sold a black box is a massive liability for your business.
In the AI era, we aren't chasing eyeballs. We are chasing Model Consensus.
On Thursday, I’m going to show you the "Computational Secret" that determines whether an AI trusts your brand or ignores it.
Talk soon,

If you want to understand where your brand actually stands in AI Search, my audits break this down with complete clarity: structure, signals, and opportunities.
More on that in future issues.
